In celebration of the Streamy Awards I decided to make a list of some science fiction and fantasy web series.

Riese landed a contract with Syfy! season One and the never-before-seen season two to be streamed on Syfy Digital with eye towards development for broadcast. Way to go!
Riese is a world of moral ambiguity and political intrigue.
A decimated land populated by characters from dreams and nightmares. Loyalties are ever in question, suspicion in the minds of all. The realm, however, was not always so cruel. Everything began with a peaceful nation called Eleysia.
The Kingdom of the Wolf, Eleysia was once prosperous due largely to the influence of Empress Kara and Emperor Ulric. This all changed when a coup d’etat, orchestrated from the shadows by a religious cult, brought about a total regime change. Taking the throne was Amara, the Empress’s cousin.
A power-hungry tyrant, Amara immediately utilized Eleysia’s wealth and power to begin colonizing the world, crushing nation after nation in order to unite the people under one banner. Even as she assaulted the world, an ominous, enigmatic group clearly wielded power over her. Called The Sect, they purported themselves to be the official religion of Eleysia, and began to spread alongside Eleysia’s borders.
Joss Whedon and his brothers, Felicia Day and Nathan Fillion whats not to love. Love Niel and Simon too by the way.
Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog is an Emmy Award-winning musical mini-series that was exclusively distributed over the internet. Joss Whedon created it during the writers’ strike 2008 and wrote it with Maurissa Tancharoen and his brothers Zack and Jed . The show contains three parts, each having a duration of just under 15 minutes. The show follows Billy ( Neil Patrick Harris ), aka the aspiring super-villain Dr. Horrible, who wants to join the Evil League of Evil. Captain Hammer ( Nathan Fillion ) is his arch-nemesis and Penny ( Felicia Day ) is the girl from the laundromat who has no idea of Billy’s alter ego or his feelings for her. In 2009, the Emmys introduced a new category, Outstanding Special – Short-format Live-Action Entertainment Programs , and named Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog its first winner.

I started watching the Guild while playing WoW. Watching the Guild was hilarious when you where raiding yourself. The Guild is not really fiction, it’s more like reality TV raiding :) Me? I played a resto-druid.
This comedic web series, brainchild of Felicia Day, is about a group of socially maladjusted online gamers, “The Knights of Good.” It chronicles the drama that happens in-game and in their real lives. As they begin meeting up in person, the complications multiply.

The Legend of Niel
web | genre: comedy, sitcom
The Legend of Neil is an online sitcom. The series follows Neil, who was playing The Legend of Zelda when he masturbated to the fairy in the game while drunk and strangled himself with his NES controller. Somehow he was transported into the game and is subsequently mistaken for the game’s hero, Link. The series, “full of self degrading, foul humor”, is written by Sandeep Parikh (also known for playing Zaboo-in the webseries The Guild)
