Chuck returns with a sweet, heartwarming and fun episode about a man and his ring or if you want to a serious case of proposal interuptus. Everything is planed, the Champaign, the musicians, the balloons and Chuck is about to pop the question when Sarah tells him about her parents failed proposal in a similar restaurant with balloons and accidental fires. Needless to say, Chuck aborts the mission with some sweet situational comedy as result.

The episode continues in similar ways even if it includes a French Chateau, a microchip hidden in a bottle of wine, and the usual fun and games. The team is back on track.

Some moments were really hilarious like when Casey has to play Chuck’s manservant. Lester is also having marriage problems of the arranged kind and she is on her way to the Buy More. You can guess how that goes.

Another highpoint is when Sarah ambushes Morgan, I never seen her so hot. I am taking control of this mission now, Morgan you are working for me now. First Morgan and then Casey get involved in the proposal. Morgan is surprised when Casey tells him he knows what is going on. Cause I am a spy not a moron.

Casey is the Man! I am so impressed and his advice to Chuck is so Right.

But as often in Chuck it is close, so close but Sarah has her mission now…

Wow and Bravo! This show really makes me happy. I am happy you guys and gals are back!

This week’s Event is packed with revelations and intrigue but it still lacks soul. I am in many respects a lover of good character driven drama and the Event looks like that in many respects but it hurt me that I can’t get myself to really care for or feel for the characters.

Blake Stirling’s flashback story is compelling; the stuff good entertainment is built around. It makes him human as we learn the reasons he is mistrusting his own judgment. He was married to a Russian spy. Simon Lee dodges the bullet with the help of his friends. Instead they frame an innocent man for being the mole. Blake and President Marinez celebrate their success with a beer.

Mr. Bourne Identity meets Enemy of the State as Sean and girl friend goes after the truth. That part was somewhat entertaining but I can’t for the life of me get myself to care what is happening to them.

Sofia is Thomas mother. I didn’t see that one coming. It explains a lot. E.T. wants to go home and Thomas has been helping our technology along when not playing the stock market.

But what is up with the guys trying to stop Martinez and Sean? They kidnap young girls and make them old? I am starting to believe they are after the longevity of the E.T.s

This Event lacks something, probably humor.

This week’s Event was Simon’s story. Wonder why that got me thinking of Lost? It is a tale about a man from another place with no water in it who finds love he has to abandon because he doesn’t age, much. That was in the flashbacks back to 1954. Then he meets her again as an old lady ten years ago. One day he went out to get sunflowers and he returns with a sunflower half a century later.

Simon helps Sofia escape by dosing a coffee shop with the isotope they dosed her food with. Then he thinks his cover is blown when they start checking his team for traces of the isotope. Man you where drinking coffee from the coffee shop!

Anyway Thomas opens a gate inside a house about to be stormed by the feds while Sofia and Thomas run away. Simon decides to stay behind and save the agents inside only to be buried or gated away himself?

Some things I noticed. Sofia talks Chinese. Simon’s old girlfriend asks him. Are you an angel? I am so far from that. He replies. If I was cynical I would say, does that mean they are demons? I would hate to discover that everything here has a spiritual explanation. But I hope NBC isn’t that cruel, they did give us Chuck.

Sean has to tell Leila her mother is dead, her little sister Samantha is missing presumed held by the kidnappers, her daddy is missing too and by the way Sean is wanted for murder.

They still manages to get home to look for clues and discover Michael Buchanan had a deranged crazy pistol wielding female journalist contact and he knew about the detainees in Alaska. It was his own fault according to the leader of the kidnappers.

The Event is getting there but I am still suspicious and won’t let my guard down just yet. It got a full season order but they still need to catch up a bit, there is something off with the pacing. They started playing tension music way before it got the slightest tense. I was thinking, why do they play this tension music? Paused for contemplation and a minute or so afterwards they got to the tense part. Did they re cut the episode in haste and missed it?

In general it is a good story but the characters need more love. This episode was a step in the right direction but we need more. Leila is still not a person I care for, and I feel like I should at this stage of the story. I care more for that female FBI agent we left behind with the prisoner.

Sarah and Chuck’s mother meet in a gun faceoff! Awesome!

This was a very emotional rollercoaster episode with Chuck’s mom getting in touch again, Jeffster doing the Halloween decorations and Freddy Kreuger (Robert Englund) guest as professor in fear.

The cool tech was a nifty little holographic pad. The next iPad?

Chuck has some mommy issues he eventually starts to deal with only to have her snatched away from a meet with Ellie. And now he has Sarah issues, major issues coming up in that relation next week.

There were also some good lines this episode.

My mom shot me!

Chuck How did you get here? My mom dropped me off.

Next Week? My name is Bond, James Bond. I say no more. No it’s not Moore, watch the video and see for yourself.

Origin stories are always fun. Casey’s old teammates might be a bit miffed with him since he turned them in to the MP for trying to steal a pile of Irakian gold. He also seals the gold behind a lock only he can open. Meanwhile Morgan is living dangerously dating Casey’s daughter Alex.

Chuck flashes on Casey’s A-team mates. They might have information about his mother and now they have to kill Casey to lure them in. I smiled a lot when the general congratulated Chuck on his callousness and he went all mushy on Casey.

The A-team blows the floor and takes Casey at the funeral.  They loose track of Casey and he has to break free of himself and calls the Buy More for an extraction but gets Jeff. They think he is drugged and bring him home to Morgan. Alex comes knocking and Morgan sends her away when he sees one of the team.

Sarah and Chuck get caught by the A-team and Morgan gets advise from Awesome on how to wake Casey. I have been dating your daughter. Those Casey eyes! He wakes up and show how he feels about that. Morgan and Casey set out to rescue them. “Bring a book, we ain’t talking.”

A-team tells Chuck FROST is their boss and Chuck realizes she might be one of the bad guys. Delightful little blitz there at the end.

Morgan throws a party and invites Casey at the end. He brings Alex promise to break all of Morgan if he breaks her heart.

We leave with Chuck getting a call … from his mother.

I am happy Chuck is not going on a three week hiatus. I can’t wait to see where this will take us…

Chuck has a 24 episode season!

After viewing this I spotted the happy news on RSS.

You don’t have to wait that long for a sneak peak at next episode.
