Isn’t it great to have some new scifi on the very first day of the new year? And a second episode tomorrow! The new Primeval Series Four premiered in the UK and the US today.

The show is about a team fighting anomalies in time and the creatures that comes out of them. It is great fun with dinosaurs, humor and a great deal of thrilling action.

Last season left part of the team trapped in time, Abby and Conner in the Cretaceous period, while Danny joined the first humans after stopping Helen from murdering them all. It looks like we are done with that arc now.

Most of the old team are still with us in this first episode Lester, Beckett, Conner and Abby but you can never be sure with these British shows, they did kill off a few of the main characters last season. The team has two new members and a new sponsor since the ARC now is a joint government and private venture. The perky Jess is the group coordinator and Matt is the new secretive group leader. Matt seems like a good guy but he has a second agenda as we learned in the webisodes. Philiph Burton’s Prosperos is the private investor. One can wonder what his agenda is too.

I won’t tell you too much about the episode but it is good to see that the lightness and humor still is there so much television nowadays wants to be dark. And that Abby and Connor that has been my greatest enjoyment in the series so far is still in it.

The ARC also has gotten a scfi upgrade with new computers and weapons. There is a funny scene when Beckett calls the new weapons toy guns and dare Matt to use one on him.

I am a bit worried about Abby. She seems to have trouble adjusting. She was just about to give it up there in the past. But happy she and Connor seem to have hit it off. The whole wilderness girl look looked good on her though.

There was some memorable moments and comments in this episode

  • Connor’s Dream about being Cretaceous celebrity chef.
  • Connor instructing Abby not to drive so close to the curb.
  • Lester being refused a private hack: Whatever happened to blind obedience? Lester have you not been here the last few series?
  • Lester: Trust Conner to bring a pet back with him

The episode was great with enough dinosaur action and a lot of fun action.

Part 2 is tomorrow! Sweet!

The manly Human Target show is back with shocking result. The world is going under! Two, I say Two stunning females are allowed to join the casts as full members of the team. One even claims to be the new boss. That can’t be good!

It is, good that is. The humor is there, Chance recklessness and utter abandonment of all pre planning is there, Winston’s and Guerero is there…

The one liners are there …

And Long legs stepping out of a chopper like she owns the world is there, so is Miss Winston-gave-me-another-chance professional thief is there.

There are the usual shenanigans with assassination attempts and an elaborate plot to lift a few billion dollars from the poor long legged widow.

It is good to have some reliable uncomplicated fun to watch again.

The opening episode was great but I am not sure they should have changed the office windows like they did. Chance should have a say in that at least.

Fringe has a good start on the season and way to go the way this show has of reinventing itself every season. That is a talented group of writers.

Olivia is on the other side where Walternate is trying to convince her she is their Olivia by injecting her with a memory transfer from B-Olivia. They want to use her ability to move between the universes.

Olivia makes a run for it and escapes but the memory transfer slowly takes over turning her into what they believe is B-Olivia. I am not convinced she isn’t playing a role to be given freedom. Outside she teams up with a taxi driver I think I recognize from Total Recall? I have to check IMDB later. The guy connects with Olivia and I think he will be back.

Next episode will be in our universe but the next after that will be on the other side, it is going to be torture to have to wait on resolution two weeks after each episode up until the big revelation already promised in the fall finale.

I had great fun watching this episode but it was also very emotional with her trapped, possibility after possibility closed for her to return and then meeting her mother that in our universe died when she was a little kid.

I wonder how it will go on the boyfriend side. Our Peter here and Frank(?) over there. We will find out about Peter and the other Olivia next week. I heard rumors that they will go a bit steamy on us, but that might not be next week.

The other side has daily flights to the moon! We are doing something wrong here! The totalitarian big brother surveillance is a bit harder than here. You have to swipe your card to travel.

Walternate has a plan. Why is he using Olivia? please speculate in comments.

The Big Bang Theory is a good way on becoming the new ‘Friends’ from what I hear from ratings and media. I, I like it because it is geeky and joke with fandom. The chemistry especially between Sheldon, Penny and Leonard is another reason I watch. In this weeks season premiere Penny learn that Sheldon has a girl friend and that he never have been on a date. Never knowing when to stop talking she ends up chaperoning Sheldon on his date. That part was hilarious.

Howard do have his moments this week he has his hands on a robotic hand made for the space station but knowing the Wolowitz mind set you will not have any problem imagine the use he puts it to. That scene with him in the hospital with Rajesh and Leonard was another high point in the premiere.

In general it was a snappy and fun season premiere that promises more of the same delightful geeky entertainment we have come to expect from The Big Bang Theory.

Next week Sheldon discover that he will not live long enough to be uploaded into a computer when he dies …

4.01 Chuck vs the Anniversary

Excited is such an understatement. Chuck and all his friends are back! Let’s see what the new season has in mind for us.

Chuck asks Morgan for help. But why do they not explore the base first. It is just wrong. It is Destiny all over again. I want to see the underground base now! Okay never mind Sarah is on, what where you talking about? Sarah is going on a mission with Casey that is going to be longer than expected so it is good that they say good bye first.

New secrets! I never saw that one coming (sure). They spend four months running around the world looking for Chuck’s mom burning a lot of money so when they return to LA the bad ass repo man takes their $400 car! What amazes me is that Sarah didn’t notice that Chuck was gone for four months? She had a long mission…

They are after Marco a Russian arms dealer, they trap him but he sets off a portable EMC device blacking out half of the city. When his thugs arrive they leave by skydiving. “Good you packed the shutes”.

Morgan gets a bit creepy and suggests that Chuck should try Sexting with Sarah he even takes some photo and send off to her which will have significance later. The Buy More is back under CIA management. A real hottie meets them and Morgan tries his usual charm but she puts him in his place. Store Manager General Beckman put Chuck in his place. He is back with the CIA weather he wants it or not.

Sarah and Case is back with the EMC device for Chuck to flash on before taking off again afterwards. Sarah takes Chuck aside to ask about the picture he was sending. He explain but later on the plane she starts to think about sexting him. I don’t mind at all, she is pleasing to the eyes.

Unfortunately Casey comes back and they get gassed and taken to Moscow by Marco. As if meant to they arrive in Mosco at the same time Morgan and Chuck lands. They were following a lead from a menu to an arms dealer in Russia. This is when it gets even more fun with sexting. Sarah is tied to the chair and sends Chuck pictures with her messages and Morgan things she is sexting Chuck. SOS means skin on skin, yes.

It is not until she sends the facility and the room number that Morgan understands that they are in trouble and tell Chuck who is downloading the files about his mother. They go to the rescue in the usual Bartowski way.

It is amusing when Marco comes back and looks happy when he stops her form texting more. It is not you we are after, is those two master spies that has started to come to close the last four months. And then he starts to show them photos of Chuck and Morgan traveling the world! Sarah and Casey have interesting facial expressions.

Chuck saves them but not before he has to use an EMC bomb that destroys the files he had been downloading. The getaway bus was a sweet touch. Happy Anniversary, Honey!

Back home the gang gather in the underground base and promise to help Chuck find his mother. He is going back to work for the CIA, which he sets out to tell Ellie but she is so happy as she tells him she is pregnant that he can’t tell her. So there is going to be some lying to your family this season anyway.

Linda Hamilton gets to finish this episode and everybody that knows about her family trying to find her. That includes Marco. She is quite agile I must say.

Wonderful season premiere, lots to explore this season. Two new underground bases we get to explore next episode or so and then the epic search for Mom. I expect some forbidden love from Morgan soon to. Remember Casey’s daughter Alex…

Next week we meet the Incredible Hulk and a formidable Victoria’s Secret agent when Chuck and Sarah go to Milan
