The Syfy network confirms that Warehouse 13 has been renewed for a third season which is great! Showrunner Jack Kenny previously announced the renewal on twitter but then retracted it. I was not alone in liking season two, Warehouse 13 has been Syfy’s most popular series this year.

Pete and Myka fly the Ikaros’ wings out of the pyramid trap H. G. Wells left them in. The hunt is on but Pete feels like a girl when he is the first one to say I love you before he goes with Myka to Paris.

Claudia is freaked out about the whole becoming the warehouse’s guardian. But Artie promises her she is in charge of her life, she decides.

Helena makes her French lawyer step into black goo before running off from the corpse of her daughter. The mystery picture gets its explanation when H. G. assemble the first weapon of mass destruction.

Kelly gets a gift in the mail. The note says it is from Pete. Then Helena calls and tells him to check on Kelly. Which he does but she comes for him with a knife. Because she loves him. H. G. sent her an ax murderess powder box.

H. G. Wells is totally bonkers! She is going to cause another ice age to cleanse the world giving it a chance to recuperate. Myka talks her down after Artie shoots her and take the damage himself. The Regents take her away.

Kelly is moving, she wants a simple life. I feel sorry for Pete as he contemplates quitting. Myka talks him into staying on, much like with Wells. Then Myka gives her letter of resignation to Mr. Fredric. Her trusting Wells almost destroyed the world.

Does that mean Myka will not be there next season? That ending surprised me. We have to wait until next summer to find out. Warehouse 13 is likely to be renewed but you never know.

The regents didn’t bronze H. G. Wells, I wonder where they put her. Any theories?

The summer shows start to wrap up their runs or go on hiatus before a winter season. That time is getting near for Warehouse 13 too. The second season finale is next week so things are starting to heat up. H. G. Wells is a woman named Helena G. Wells obsessed with her dead daughter and time travel and now made a member of the Warehouse team. For some reason Artie is dead set against her and I must admit I don’t fully trust her either. She did talk about a plan there at the start of the season.

This week we learn more about the mysterious Mrs. Frederic as she falls ill as someone activates Warehouse 2. It was thought to have been lost when the Romans conquered Alexandria. Is this a break with the mythos? I thought Warehouse 1 was the famous Library of Alexandria? Anyway, some American youths on a dig in Peru suddenly turn up mummified in Egypt tipping off the team on where to look.

The start of this episode had a lot of the snappy dialog. Pete is especially intrigues when H.G shoots off “Many of my lovers where men” when he asked advice on Kelly from Myka, Claudia and H. G. But there is no follow up on that issue. Pete will find out his true feelings for Kelly later. I feels sorry for Pete.

H. G., Pete and Myka go off to Egypt to reset the Warehouse before it kills Mrs. Frederic. They are guided by Benedict Valda who is the Regents’ expert on Warehouse 2. Then follows an entertaining Indiana Jones like sequence as they have to pass three traps one for mind, body and soul respectively.

This whole episode is a fight against the clock. Artie disappears without any explanation but he was obviously on to something making him excited. So Claudia is alone with Mrs F and Dr Vanessa Calder when she learn her destiny within the Warehouse. This time she is saved by the bell but she is rattled to the core. I would also like to point out she looks gorgeous in leather and much more mature than previously.

Oh, I almost forgot to mention that Helena researched how the archeologist of today dress before going to Egypt. Myka tells her that is just how Americam film makers think they dress. I don’t mind, I really don’t.

In the end Myka and Pete plug the keyhole to reset the Warehouse freeing Mrs F from her connection to number two. Mr Valda had to sacrifice himself to one of the traps and Helena wants them to see this before she shoots them down with green lightening. Scene and end.

I liked this episode. It had good action, snappy dialog, revealed some interesting Warehouse secrets and best of all showed a lot of character development with Claudia who is my favorite character on the show.

Next episode is the season finale called Reset. It will air on Tuesday 21st.

The team tries to track down their rogue member, and discover the artifact they have is unexpectedly powerful. Meanwhile, Claudia wonders about her future with the Warehouse team and Pete must choose between Kelly and the mission.

Last week

In episode 2.06 Around the Bend Peter went on an undercover mission for Mrs Frederic or so he thought while affected by a paranoia creating telegraph. Myka got a little worried and staged and intervention because she thought he was drinking again. Tia Carrere from the original Relic Hunter guested as a former colleague and love interest.

Syfy also announced a Warehouse 13 Christmas Special  this year.

This Week

I have been complaining for a while of the lack of a season arc and that they left H. G. Well’s story out to dry. I love this season, don’t get me wrong. But I would love some longer thrills than one per week. My prayers have been heard.

In this episode Pete is grounded because of his mental breakdown last episode and Myka goes hunting for an artifact that is killing off wrestlers on a team that win every competition. And as an added spice she gets Claudia as her apprentice agent.

Claudia gets a bit winded especially when they go into the wrestler’s locker room. But Myka and Claudia have a good report and after calming down and being herself she is doing pretty well.

The real story here is about seizing the day. Artie and Pete are by themselves at the warehouse today while the women are doing the field work. Both of them make progress with life outside work. Artie with the Doctor, a woman he lures to the warehouse once per year to remove his appendix that always grows back. This year she is called away before she can remove it and it grows to fast that he must seek help. The only help in town is the veterinarian that seemed so agitated with Pete. That’s where Pete takes the chance to ask her out, like we didn’t see that coming. It is cute in a goofy way. Luckily for Pete that is a lady with some skin on her nose, but she has been burned before and I am afraid that she will get burned again.

Let me explain, you all know H. G. Wells is a woman since the season premiere. She used to work in Warehouse 12 before they cast her in the bronze prison. Pete kissed her seven episodes back and now she is back. Just in time when he is in a real fragile early stage with the veterinarian. Wells is not really subtle so there might be trouble there.

Wells might not show up in the warehouse this episode but she will sooner or later. Today she helped Myka out of the blue with the case, but she also got Myka to take one of her artifacts back to the Warehouse. She says she wants to return and work for the warehouse again but there is a trust issue and no one has explained why Wells was sentenced in the first place.

The wrestling team was drinking an energy drink that had been infected with an artifact that made them stronger but then turned them into the human Torch without the flame resistance.

H. G. Wells saved Claudia when she fell into one of the vats and almost burned up. All is well in the world again but Miss Wells disappears.

Last week was the crossover event with Eureka where Fargo first visited the Warehouse to upgrade the computer system and they made a lightsaber together. Then Claudia visited a time challenged Eureka where minefields materialized around them and there was kissing. Great cross by the way, I loved it.

This Week

This week is mostly about Pete and the Regents. Mrs Frederic seeks out Pete and give him an undercover mission he can’t tell the others about because it involves treason on the highest level. It all becomes real when he sees Benedict meeting with an artifact thief. But the whole thing is induced by an artifact that creates delusion and paranoia. Pete is not good at keeping secrets so Myka soon becomes suspicious, she even stage an intervention thinking he started drinking again. Pete’s delusion includes an old contact Kate Logan played by Tia Carrere from the original Relic Hunter tv show where she played globe-hunting, black-belted archeology professor Sydney Fox. I remember it fondly, it was cheesy but entertaining. Back to the story. I understand why the waitress gives him such a weird look when he makes out with Kate. He is the only one who can see her. The surveillance video is comic. In the end Myka and Artie sort it out.

On a side story Claudia discovers the protocols for dealing with her in case she becomes a threat to the Warehouse and has a go at Artie about it. That was the most entertaining part of this episode.

I think this was a decent episode but not spectacular but thats just me. I am also a bit surprised there isn’t anything yet about H. G. Wells and her sinister plan.

News about Christmas Episode

Syfy announced there will be both an Eureka and a Warehouse 13 Christmas special this year. I am happy they join Dr. Who, the Closer and other shows in this fine tradition. Here is an excerpt from their press release.

On Warehouse 13, as the Warehouse team prepares to celebrate the holidays in snowy South Dakota, Pete (Eddie McClintock) and Myka (Joanne Kelly) are called upon to hunt down a malevolent Santa Claus. Meanwhile, in time for Hanukkah, Artie and his estranged father, Isadore Weisfelt reunite after 30 years. Award-winning actor Judd Hirsch returns to television guest starring as Artie’s father. Paul Blackthorne also guest stars as a harried work-a-holic who becomes terrorized by a strange series of robberies committed by a thief dressed as “jolly old Saint Nick!”
