Weekly Journal April 18-24 2011

Happy Easter !

This week went by fast, The holiday is gods gift to readers. I have been relaxing at home reading some great books. In fact I just finished WWW: Wonder by Robert J. Sawyer. I am still high on that emotional ending. A satisfying conclusion to the WWW Series.

But I also finished Eric Brown’s magnus opus The Kings of Eternity – that’s the way to write a love story.

Warren Hammond’s noir Kop books went down as well. I see that we have to wait until 2012 for the third one Kop Killer. They are dark but there is something positive about them that I like.

The Doctor is back! Great first episode that builds on the mythos in new and unexpected ways. Karen Gillan (Amy Pond) and the rest of the cast have done a wonderful job, all that grief was very emotional.

SGU should be renewed. This weeks episode where they meet their own descendants was mind-blowing. Only three episodes left now. My soul is weeping Syfy!

Fringe is about ready to explode. I can’t wait on what is going to happen next two episodes. All in all this is my favorite show on TV just now.

I watched a load of other tv series this week too. Justified, Archer, King, Supernatural, Sanctuary etc all good.

That was all for this week, keep making suggestions for books to read.

With Doctor Who, is it ok to start watching it now? I’ve been on and off with the series for abit, but, for some reason, not alot of good tv, let alone scifi is on anymore. So, start?? I’m looking forward to Torchwood!

  • It is never wrong time to start watching Dr Who. Go ahead and then maybe go back and watch last season if you can. Dito on Torchwood, I have a feeling it will be awesome.
