Weekly Journal August 29 – September 4 2011

I live a simple life and not much has happened this week.

I watched some TV. MTV’s new cops parody Death Valley had some dark and crazy humor I liked. The sweet young rookie they left with the zombie scene was unexpected and fun. Her superiors just ignored her cries for help as she beat the crap out of that zombie. She had a hard punch that rookie. I look forward to the next episode.

Another thing I look forward to is tonight’s season premiere of Lost Girl. This is season two on Showcase CA. It airs season one in the UK and Syfy is picking it up in the US but no air date there yet.

The End Specialist by Drew Magary is best book of the week even though I finished George R. R. Martin‘s A Dance With Dragons too. ADWD is a splendid book but George killed off one too many characters for my liking. I regret the day I started on A Song of Ice and Fire. I am not bitter!

Next week I will publish an overview of this fall television for genre fans and a new updated version of my almanac of forthcoming books. I will also help B. with installing Google Analytics on her blog among other things.
