Weekly Journal May 16-22 2011

Work has kept me busy this week. Don’t you hate it when clients call the day before they need something finished. Something they have known about for weeks? And it is usually the same ones doing it too. The only thing you can do if they are important clients is charging them double overtime every time it happens and hope they learn. Don’t get me wrong I love clients but a bit of consideration and foresight would be welcome.

Me and my books had a wonderful life in the little spare time I got. I have a hard time picking the book of the week because they where all very good but Fuzzy Nation by John Scalzi was most anticipated. You got to live the humor and characters there. Kristine Katheryn Rusch blew my mind with the wonderful plot in City of Ruins. Now I can’t wait for the sequel. Charlaine Harris surprised me a bit with Dead Reckoning. Her stories are getting stronger again after a few books decline in my opinion. I finished listening to A Clash of Kings the second volume of George R. R. Martin’s medival fantasy soap opera A Song of Ice and Fire. It is so colorful and captivating that I can’t wait to get the next one. Season two of the TV series is going to be even more interesting than season one.

I haven’t had much time to watch TV but Chuck’s TV finale was fantastic. What a wedding! You can see it was prepared as a series finale. Now we know it will be back for a fifth and final season of 13 episodes this Fall. Morgan becoming the Intersect was a surprising but great plot twist for next season.

That was all for this week, keep making suggestions for books to read.
